Chinese doctors return home after assisting COVID-19 fight in Lesotho, Angola
WUHAN -- A team of 10 medical experts returned to central China's Hubei Province on Nov 5 after spending 25 days in Lesotho and Angola where they helped local medics fight COVID-19.
Organized by the National Health Commission, the team was comprised of Hubei medics who had fought on the frontline against COVID-19.
The experts specialize in fields including respiratory medicine, critical care, infectious diseases, traditional Chinese medicine, and infection control.
According to Liu Zheng, the team's leader and deputy president of Tongji Hospital in Wuhan, the team mainly shared its patient treatment, community epidemic control, and nucleic acid testing experience with counterparts in Lesotho and Angola.
The experts also trained local medics and community epidemic prevention staff, and taught local Chinese residents and workers to better protect themselves against the virus, said Liu.
