NHC promotes internet-based maternal and child healthcare services
The National Health Commission (NHC) issued a circular on Dec 2 to promote typical practices in maternal and child medical services online such as consultation, intelligent services, telemedicine and health management as well as explorations in application of new technologies and equipment.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, medical institutions at all levels have put great effort into both combating the virus and providing maternal and child healthcare services under the arrangement of the NHC. The internet was utilized to enhance capabilities and optimize services, which played a critical role in promoting maternal and child security and health.
The NHC launched a collection of typical cases of internet-based maternal and child medical services across the country and received a total of 390 cases. Some of them were selected by experts as models.
According to the circular, health authorities and medical institutions at all levels should step up regular COVID-19 prevention and control and learn from the model cases, taking full advantage of the internet means for improvement in medical services and health management in a bid to protect maternal and child health and enhance people's sense of security, gain and happiness.
