On Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 115 new cases of confirmed infections (8 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Fujian province; 107 indigenous cases, 90 in Hebei province, 16 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Shanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 28 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 617 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,451 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,165 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 286 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 87,706 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 82,288 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 784 confirmed cases (including 21 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 929,694 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 30,114 were still under medical observation.

On Jan 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 38 new asymptomatic cases (including 3 imported cases). 5 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 2 imported cases) and 42 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 556 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 256 imported cases). 

As of 24:00 on Jan 12, 10,227 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 9,343 in Hong Kong (160 had died and 8,524 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 838 in Taiwan (7 had died and 730 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
