China, Indonesia to further health collaboration

A videoconference on China-Indonesia health cooperation was held on Jan 29.
Ma Xiaowei, minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), and Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the newly-appointed health minister of Indonesia, attended the conference and exchanged views regarding COVID-19 prevention and control and bilateral health collaboration.
Ma congratulated Budi on his appointment and introduced China's latest experiences in combating the COVID-19. He said that China's success in the virus fight can be attributed to law-based epidemic prevention and treatment, strong leadership of the government, cross-departmental coordination, society-wide efforts in epidemic prevention and control, prevention measures taken beforehand and a scientific and targeted approach. He also proposed that the two countries should beef up health cooperation in all areas including prevention and control of infectious diseases.
Budi hailed China's achievements in COVID-19 prevention and control, and said he hopes to enhance exchanges and cooperation with China in the battle against the epidemic to jointly safeguard health security.
Experts from the two countries discussed mobilization and deployment of medical resources, strategies of epidemic prevention and control as well as COVID-19 vaccination.
