Feb 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, and 1 in Liaoning province), no new case of suspected infections, and no deaths. 65 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,045 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,854 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,610 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 244 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,756 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 84,357 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 763 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 973,429 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,929 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 30 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 12 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 470 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 285 imported cases). 

As of 24:00 on Feb 12, 11,740 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,755 in Hong Kong (192 had died and 10,136 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 937 in Taiwan (9 had died and 859 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
