The China-Germany health dialogue was jointly held by China's National Health Commission (NHC) and Germany's Federal Ministry of Health via video link on April 22. NHC Minister Ma Xiaowei and German Health Minister Jens Spahn attended and spoke at the conference.

Ma briefed his German counterpart on China's latest progress in COVID-19 prevention and control and vaccination, stressing that China will continue to make every effort to combat the pandemic. He said that China is willing to strengthen all-round and multi-field health cooperation with Germany, comprehensively promote communication and collaboration with the European Union and other regional and multilateral platforms, maintain global health security together and jointly build a global health community for all.

Spahn commended the health cooperation between the two countries and expressed willingness to continue to deepen cooperation with China in the fight against the pandemic and enhance experience sharing and technological exchanges. He said he hopes to make good use of this opportunity to push forward health collaboration at multilateral platforms such as the World Health Organization and the Group of 20 in a bid to jointly safeguard the health of the people of the two countries and the world.

Around 40 representatives, including health and diplomatic officials and experts from China and Germany, participated in the videoconference. Technological exchanges between the experts were made on COVID-19 prevention and control.
