On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 29 new cases of confirmed infections (27 imported cases, 6 in Yunnan province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 2 indigenous cases, 1 in Jiangsu and 1 in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 331 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,842 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,415 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 427 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,095 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,967 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 492 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,067,174 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,430 were still under medical observation.

On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 19 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 12, 471 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 465 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 12, 27,279 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,951 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,662 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,273 in Taiwan (741 had died and 11,850 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
