Yu Xuejun, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), participated in the BRICS High-Level Meeting on Digital Health via video link on Sept 3.

Yu said at the meeting that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the integration and innovation of emerging information technologies and the health sector, and vigorously promotes the development of digital health.

BRICS countries generally welcome the enhancement of best practice and knowledge sharing in digital health and support the formulation of digital health strategies to push forward the construction of a sustainable digital health ecosystem and improvement in health service systems.

A declaration was adopted at the meeting.

The meeting was hosted by India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. More than 100 representatives from the health departments of BRICS countries, the World Health Organization and other international organizations, academic institutions and enterprises participated in the meeting.
