Shanghai adds two asymptomatic COVID-19 cases
Shanghai reported two locally transmitted asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Monday, the municipal government announced Tuesday.
Authorities said the two asymptomatic cases were tracked down following the request of another city to locate relevant individuals of confirmed cases.
Health authorities said that the 29 close contacts of these two individuals have been found in the municipality and are currently under quarantine.
Shanghai also reported 29 imported cases on Monday, a record high for the city.
Authorities have advised residents to continue to take precautionary measures against COVID-19, especially in the current winter season, which typically sees a spike in respiratory diseases.
