NHC officials guide health emergency response in Guangxi after air crash
The National Health Commission (NHC) attached great importance to emergency response after the crash of Flight MU5735 in Tengxian county, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on March 21.
Ma Xiaowei, minister of the NHC, delivered important instructions immediately, requiring swift action to send national-level experts to Guangxi to assist with emergency medical rescue and psychological assistance efforts. He also dispatched Yu Xuejun and Lei Haichao, vice-ministers of the NHC, to the crash site to give guidance for these efforts.
Psychological experts from the Beijing Anding Hospital of Capital Medical University and the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital as a task force designated by the NHC, together with a 105-member local professional team, provided timely psychological assessment and intervention. The chief expert on disinfection from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and experts in virus containment went to the site to guide disinfection and epidemic prevention.
Relatives of the victims have received psychological assistance and the on-site environment has been effectively disinfected in accordance with related norms. Closed-loop management has been implemented for related personnel and sites. Progress has been made in epidemic prevention and control. No COVID-19 cases or other public health emergencies have been reported at the accident site.
