NHC senior official meets with Equatorial Guinean minister of health and social welfare

On May 28, Lei Haichao, secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the National Health Commission, met with Equatorial Guinean Minister of Health and Social Welfare Mitoha Ondo’o Ayekaba in Beijing. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on deepening health collaboration.
Lei spoke highly of the long-term friendly health cooperation between the two countries, and introduced the achievements China has made in malaria prevention and control, innovation and inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine, and women's health since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
He said that China has earnestly implemented the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and is willing to expand practical collaboration with Equatorial Guinea in health management, infectious disease prevention and control, traditional medicine and personnel training under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, so as to push China-Equatorial Guinea health cooperation to a new level and make new contributions to building a global community of health for all.
Ondo’o appreciated China's achievements in the development of health undertakings and thanked China for its long-term selfless assistance to Equatorial Guinea's health sector, especially referring to the positive contributions made by the Chinese medical team to improve the health and well-being of local people over the past 50 years.
He said Equatorial Guinea is ready to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, continuously improve the country’s medical capacity, and work together with China to benefit the two peoples.
