NHC vice-minister meets with president of GE HealthCare
Cao Xuetao, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met with a delegation led by Peter J. Arduini, president and chief executive officer of GE HealthCare and board chair of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) of the United States, in Beijing on Nov 4. The two sides discussed increasing bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
Cao introduced China's measures to implement the health-first strategy highlighted at the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He said that China holds a positive attitude towards health exchanges and cooperation with the US and welcomes US pharmaceutical companies to play an active part in the high-quality development of China's healthcare sector to benefit people's health.
Arduini said GE HealthCare and the AdvaMed highly value their development and opportunities in China and will continue to explore innovations in medical technology to benefit the health and well-being of the people in both China and the US.
