NHC minister meets with Siemens Healthineers’ CEO

On Aug 15, Lei Haichao, minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met with a delegation led by Bernd Montag, CEO of Siemens Healthineers, in Beijing.

Lei reviewed the achievements of China's medical and health system reform since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, noting that China has maintained high-quality economic growth, steadily improved people's livelihoods, ensured social stability, continuously enhanced innovation vitality and further optimized the business environment.

He expressed the hope that Siemens Healthineers would increase its investment and R&D innovation in China, provide better services to China and the world with high-quality products and technologies, participate more deeply, broadly and continuously in the Healthy China initiative. Lei also encouraged the company to continue promoting China-Germany health exchanges and cooperation, including cooperation between the medical institutions of the two countries.

Montag praised the significance progress China has made in its medical system reform and shared Siemens Healthineers' recent development plans. He said that Siemens Healthineers attaches great importance to the Chinese market and its development opportunities in China, and stands ready to play an active role in the Healthy China initiative to contribute to the high-quality development of the country's health sector.

Officials from relevant NHC departments participated in the meeting.
