NHC vice-minister meets with Vanuatu’s minister of health
On Sept 11, Liu Jinfeng, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met in Beijing with a delegation led by Vanuatu's Minister of Health John Still Tari Qetu, who was visiting China for the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services.
Liu extended a welcome to Qetu and spoke positively of the friendly cooperation between the two countries in the health sector. He said China is fully implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, advancing a health-first strategy and deepening the reform of the medical system, so as to build a Healthy China.
Guided by the heads of state of both nations, China is willing to deepen practical cooperation with Vanuatu in areas such as artificial intelligence, traditional medicine, public health and advanced medical technologies, he noted, adding that China will continue to dispatch medical teams to Vanuatu, elevate health cooperation to new heights and contribute to building a global community of health for all.
Qetu commended China's achievements in health development and appreciated its long-term selfless assistance to Vanuatu's health sector. He said he looks forward to drawing on China's experience, deepening bilateral health cooperation and continuously enhancing the health and well-being of the people of both countries.
