Vice-minister Sun Zhigang visits Hong Kong and Macao

Sun Zhigang, vice-minister of China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission, attended the Hong Kong 2014 Hospital Authority Convention on invitation and visited Macau to exchange community health construction between May 6 and 10.

At the opening ceremony of Hong Kong 2014 Hospital Authority Convention, Sun introduced the recent development of medical and health reform in the Chinese mainland. Sun said that with the strengthening of cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Hong Kong’s good practices in hospital management, medical supervision as well as other areas can be further promoted on the Chinese mainland.

During his visit to Hong Kong, Sun met with Ko Wing-man, Secretary for Food and Health of Hong Kong, and visited the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) – Prince of Wales Hospital, and some private clinics, exchanging ideas on further strengthening cooperation between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.

During Sun’s visit to Macao, he met with Cheong U, secretary for social affairs and culture of the Macao SAR government, and visited various hospitals and community medical service centers to learn more about the management of medical and healthcare service organizations in Macao.
