First China Women and Children’s Health and Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Conference takes place in Beijing


On April 28, 2014, the first China Women and Children Health and Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Conference was held in Beijing. The conference was hosted by the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the NHFPC and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM). It was organized by the National Women and Children Health Institute and China Exchange Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine Scientific and Technological Development.
Present at the conference were Wang Guoqiang, vice-minister of the NHFPC and director of the SATCM; Zhang Shikun, director-general of the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the NHFPC; and Yang Long, deputy director-general of the Medical Administration Department of the SATCM. Roughly 130 other people attending the conference consisted of staff from the women and children department of the provincial and municipal health and family planning commission, staff from the provincial and municipal maternity hospitals, and professionals and experts in traditional Chinese medicine.
