Vice-minister Xu Ke visits France and Denmark
Xu also attended seminars on both emerging infectious diseases and the health care system, and met with Jean Depeaupuis, head of the medical bureau of the French Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and Benoit Vallet, head of the health bureau of the ministry. During her stay in France, Xu also visited the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (INVS) and the Paris Emergency Medical Service Center (SAMU).
During Xu’s visit to Denmark, she met with Perr Okkel, Danish vice-minister for health, and inked a Sino-Danish Plan of Action on Health Cooperation between 2014 and 2019. Xu said that as a country with a large population, China faces dual challenges in coping with infectious diseases and chronic diseases. The prevention of diseases requires the full participation of the government, society and individuals. China is willing to further cooperation with Denmark on the diseases surveillance, aging society and health promotion etc.. Xu also visited various medical institutions, including the Danish Serum Institute, the Health Promotion Centre and Bispebjerg Hospital, and held talks with officials in the medical sector.
