Minister Li Bin meets with WHO director-general
Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), met with Margaret Chan, the director-general of WHO, on July 3.

Li expressed her gratitude to WHO and Margaret Chan for supporting China’s healthcare development and spoke highly of healthcare reform, tobacco control legislation, chronic disease control, healthy aging and H7N9 prevention and treatment, joint achievements by China and WHO. China is willing to cooperate with WHO to promote its health and family planning sector, said Li; it will also participate in global health and population affairs to increase its international influence.

Margaret Chan praised China’s healthcare reform, and WHO is willing to further cooperate with China to play a more important role in global health and population development.
