NHFPC holds forum on migrant population

The new urbanization and migrant population social cohesion forum 2014 and the seminar on migrant population data development and sharing were held on July 5, 2014, at Renmin University of China based in Beijing. The forum was hosted by the NHFPC’s migrant population department and Renmin University’s social transition and social management innovation center.

Chen Xiwen, deputy director of the Central Agricultural Work Leading Team; Wang Pei’an, vice-minister of the NHFPC; Gu Shengzu, vice-chairman of the NPC Financial and Economic Committee; and Han Jun, deputy head of the Development Research Center of the State Council, attended the forum and expressed their ideas on new urbanization, household registration reform and “sannong” issues (farmers, villages and agriculture).

More than 200 scholars from departments of the NHFPC, Peking University, China Academy of Social Sciences and Johns Hopkins University participated in the forum.
