Chen Xiaohong surveys Liaoning province
From July 16-17, Chen Xiaohong, vice-minister of the NHFPC, made a survey tour in Liaoning province to study a research program about improving the national standardization of food safety in China. He learned about the standards, monitoring and evaluation of local food safety; the construction of food safety strengthening, personnel, expenditure and improvement mechanisms; and the implementation of food safety standards.

The survey tour included discussion meetings and field surveys. The survey team listened to a report on Liaoning province’s food safety standards and risk monitoring presented by Che Jing, deputy head of the Liaoning Health and Family Planning Commission. The team also met with officials from other departments such as the provincial diseases prevention center, health supervision bureau and Chenyang city’s health department.

In Yingkou city, the survey team also held discussion meetings with officials from the health department, disease prevention center, health supervision bureau, Yingkou’s development zone and Dashiqiao district’s health administration department. For field tours, they visited the Liaoning provincial disease prevention center, health supervision bureau and some vegetable oil plants.
