Chen Xiaohong praised the work of the Liaoning Health and Family Planning Commission for its work in food safety standardization. Despite facing difficulties, they still manage to finish the tasks of food safety risk monitoring. He encouraged the health departments at all levels to research weak points in grassroots level food safety and raise suggestions for implementation of food safety standards. He required the health departments at all levels to further strengthen ability construction for food safety standards as well as personnel training. Health departments should play a leading role to make use of resources and inspire technical employees in the health sector for food safety standards and risk monitoring work in 2014, he said.

Other participants included officials from the NHFPC’s department of personnel, the department of planning and information, and the department of food, as well as people from the Liaoning Provincial Commission of Health and Family Planning.
