On July 17-18, NHFPC’s maternal and child health department held a training seminar on early childhood care and development in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. Department head Zhang Shikun and deputy head Qin Geng attended the seminar and gave speeches.

Zhang Shikun stressed the importance of early childhood care and development and NHFPC’s strategy to promote it in China. Meanwhile, she said all regions across China should learn the importance of developing a team of teachers at the provincial level, which is necessary to establish a high-level professional team, provide standard services and build a high-level service brand.

As experts and leaders in the sector of early childhood care and development, teachers at provincial level should be the backbone force in this field. They should play leading roles in personnel training, disciplinary development and standard practices, providing technical support and guidance to early childhood development in the province where they work, Zhang said.
