NHFPC holds seminar in Qinghai
The 2014 National Health and Family Planning Commission’s (NHFPC) seminar was held in Xining, Qinghai province, from July 24-25. It discussed reform on public hospitals and grading diagnosis and treatment. Vice-Premier Liu Yandong fully affirmed the achievements of deepening healthcare reform and improving family planning policy by the NHFPC. She required that healthcare reform should be further improved. Li Bin, minister of the NHFPC, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Hao Peng, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and governor of Qinghai province, gave a speech. Sun Zhigang, vice-minister of the NHFPC, hosted the conference and gave a concluding remark. Vice-ministers of the NHFPC, including Wang Guoqiang, Chen Xiaohong, Wang Pei’an, Cui Li and Xu Ke, attended the conference.

Li Bin said that with the joint efforts by health and family planning commissions at all levels, healthcare and public hospital reform has made great achievements. The medical insurance system has been further improved, and the essential medicine system has been strengthened and upgraded. The construction of social medical institutions has been carried out quickly. The “two-child policy” has been implemented smoothly. Family planning work at the community level, public health emergency training and food safety have been improved. Healthcare service has been upgraded, and the features and advantages of TCM have been further developed.
