China’s Maternal-Children Health Tour campaign in Guangxi was launched in Nanning on July 31. Wang Guoqiang, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) and director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Zhang Shikun, director-general of the department of maternal and child health; Li Guojian, director of the Guangxi Health and Family Planning Commission; and Wang Gebing, president of the Guangxi Women’s Federation, attended the opening ceremony.

China’s
Maternal-Children Health Tour campaign in Guangxi is jointly
conducted by the NHFPC and All-China Women’s Federation; hosted by
the National Center for Women and Children’s Health, China Women
Activity Center and China Women’s Development Foundation; and
co-organized by the Health and Family Planning Commission of the
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Women’s Federation and the
National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State
Council. The campaign is designed to mark the 20th anniversary of
the release of the Maternal and Infant Health Care Law of the
People’s Republic of China and further promote the activities of
the Maternal and Children Health Service Year in provinces
(autonomous regions, municipalities). It is supposed to raise
society’s awareness and support the maternal and children health
sector to improve health conditions.
