China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Chinese citizens avoid traveling to Ebola-affected countries
Ebola is spreading in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and other West African countries. It has claimed more than 1,000 lives as of August 13. Nigeria has also reported infectious cases. Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria have declared a state of emergency. The WHO has officially declared the Ebola epidemic an international emergency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China warns Chinese citizens to avoid traveling to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Chinese citizens who are in the mentioned countries should pay close attention to the epidemic, understand protective information, take protective measures and avoid contacting suspected patients. If one feels symptoms of Ebola, they should see a doctor immediately and contact the Chinese embassy and consulate in the mentioned countries for help.
