Tanzanian president visits Shandong’s medical group members
Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, accompanied by Lv Youqing, China's ambassador to Tanzania, visited the Shandong Provincial Hospital and talked with medical group members who had provided medical assistance in Tanzania. Liu Qi, director and Party secretary of the Shandong Health and Family Planning Commission, hosted the meeting.

President Kikwete visited the remote medical center and communicated online with Shandong’s medical team in Tanzania. Shandong medical experts provided remote medical diagnosis for a Tanzanian patient suffering hypertension and heart disease. Kikwete appreciated the experts’ excellent medical skills and was grateful his people could enjoy such high quality medical service.

Qiu Bingyu, vice-director of the Shandong Health and Family Planning Commission, introduced the situation of the Chinese medical team working in Tanzania to Kikwete. Both sides watched the feature film Chinese Medical Team in Tanzania. Qin Chengyong, director of the Shandong Provincial Hospital, introduced the basic information of the hospital and the situation of its medical team in Tanzania. Representatives from the medical team dispatched by the Shandong Provincial Hospital and Qilu Hospital of Shandong University reviewed their work and life in Tanzania and shared the friendship built with Tanzanian medical staff.
