Tanzanian president visits Shandong’s medical group members

President Kikwete praised the medical team dispatched by Shandong province. He said that this year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China and Tanzania diplomatic relations. In the past 50 years, China and Tanzania has had a good relationship in bilateral, territorial and international sectors. Many people have made great contributions to Sino-Tanzanian relationships, especially Shandong, which dispatched outstanding medical experts to Tanzania to improve its medical industry and help Tanzanian patients. His visit to Jinan allows Tanzanian people who were helped by the Chinese medical team to express their heartfelt gratitude. Kikwete said that with the help of the Chinese medical team, Tanzania has set up medical centers equipped with top medical equipment. He hoped that more Chinese medical staff will go to Tanzania to assist in medical work in the future.
Liu Qi said that President Kikwete’s praise is an honor to the Chinese medical team in Tanzania as well as the medical team dispatched by Shandong. Shandong will dispatch more medical staff to Tanzania, making efforts in Sino-Tanzanian friendship.
Relevant people from the Department of African Affairs and the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong provincial government, heads of the Shandong Provincial Hospital and Shandong’s medical team to Tanzania attended the activity.
