Li Bin said that to increase the aid to West African countries to fight Ebola is good for the friendship between China and African countries. It also demonstrates China’s national image in international humanitarian aid and responsibility. The Chinese public health team shares its experience of public health and contagious disease prevention with African countries in the fight against Ebola, which symbolizes that China’s aid in Africa has not only attached importance to humanitarian assistance but also disease prevention and treatment.

China has provided 750 million yuan ($122.46 million) in aid to Ebola-affected West African countries to date. The next step is technical aid in Africa, which will fully use China’s experience in fighting SARS, taking public health measures to control the spread of the epidemic. The public health training team will hold training courses in three Ebola-affected countries and share China’s experiences in acute infectious disease prevention and control to local medical staff, government officials, students and volunteers.
