Minister Li Bin meets with Brazil ambassador to China
Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), met with Valdemar Carneiro Leao, Brazil ambassador to China, on November 19. Both sides exchanged ideas about cooperation in health and population sectors under the BRICS framework.
Li praised Sino-Brazilian cooperation as well as introduced the NHFPC’s work under the BRICS framework and the Chinese government’s aid to West African countries in fighting Ebola. Leao said that Brazil pays great attention to cooperation with China in the health and population sectors. He said that Brazil will host the BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting and BRICS Population Ministers’ meeting and introduced relevant information. Both sides were willing to further cooperation in the health and population sectors under the BRICS system, appealing the international community to join hands in coping with Ebola.
People in charge of the NHFPC’s Department of International Cooperation also attended the meeting.
