Li Bin meets with Somalia health minister
Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) met with Hawa Hassan Mohamed, the Somalia health minister in Beijing on May 12. Both sides discussed cooperation in the health sector.

“China and Somalia have always supported each other’s development. The Chinese government has dispatched 11 medical teams to Somalia from 1968 to 1990,” Li said that China attached great importance to cooperation in health sector, and China is willing to push forward cooperation under the Sino-African Health Development Forum.
Hawa expressed gratitude for China’s support. She hoped that China will continue to support Somalia in medical training and the construction of medical facilities. She also hoped that China will continue to dispatch medical teams to Somalia.
Hawa was invited to visit China from May 10 to 15, when she visited the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Beijing Hospital and Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Hawa will also visit Jilin province and Guangdong province.
