Li Bin meets with head of US managed health care company
Li Bin, minister of China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission, met with Bernard Tyson, CEO of Kaiser Permanente the United States’ largest managed care organization, in Beijing on, June 8, to discuss medical care services, payment systems, and hospital management.
Li explained the improvements through China’s healthcare reforms and said China would like to learn from Kaiser Permanente in its care system and cooperate with Kaiser Permanente in personnel training, while Tyson commented favorably on China’s achievements in healthcare reforms and disease prevention and supported the idea of cooperating.
Taking part in the meeting were officials from the Commission’s international cooperation dept, healthcare reform dept, and the Disease Prevention and Control and Medical Administration bureaus.
