Vice-premier meets UNAIDS executive director
BEIJING — Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan met with UNAIDS executive director Michel Sidibe on June 20 in Beijing.
Sun applauded the long-term cooperation between UNAIDS and China, saying China stood ready to work with UNAIDS on the prevention and treatment of AIDS and personnel training, to enhance international health cooperation and build a “healthy China.”
Sun said China hoped to work with UNAIDS to promote AIDS prevention and treatment in developing countries, and improve the health and well-being of people around the world.
Sidibe, also UN under-secretary-general, commended China’s major achievements on AIDS prevention and treatment and expressed willingness to further cooperate with China.
