Cui Li, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission inspects facilities for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment and health promotion from Dec 23 to 25 in Meigu county, Liangshan prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan province.
Cui Li, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission, led a research and inspection team to Meigu county, Liangshan prefecture, in Southwest China's Sichuan province from Dec 23 to 25, inspecting and guiding local HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment and health poverty alleviation work.
The team visited the local hospitals and center for disease control and prevention and talked with medical workers to learn about local health promotion actions and problems they are facing to implement Gates Foundation's program.
The program, co-launched by the NHC and Gates Foundation, started in November 2017, aiming to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS and alleviate poverty caused by healthy problems in Liangshan prefecture. It has three sub-programs namely rural basic hygiene, children's nutrition and health and social organizations to engage in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
Cui said that the health promotion actions in Liangshan prefecture reflect the development theory of putting people first and the establishment of Healthy China. Endemic and critical infectious disease prevention and control should be coordinated and targeting implemented. Local authorities should take HIV/AIDS mother-to-fetus transmission and antiviral treatment and other weak fields as priorities and form HIV/AIDS prevention teams to identify and treat HIV/AIDS carriers and curb transmission, to realize the health promotion goal in this phrase.
