NHC vice-minister inspects Hebei’s health poverty alleviation and medical reform

Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), took an inspection tour to North China's Hebei province from Mar 19 to 22.

Wang and his inspection group visited health institutions at various levels in the province's Julu and Guantao counties and households in poverty caused by illness and other households.

The team talked with local residents and officials to learn about the health poverty alleviation work and the current situations of health related tasks including targeted health aid, remote medical services, treatment of major diseases and programs of registered family doctors.

Wang affirmed the progress and achievements of Hebei's work in terms of health poverty alleviation and deepening medical reform. He said that the two tasks are priorities of health related work. They should be implemented step by step with coordinated and cooperated measures.

He urged the health related departments in the province to upgrade their health working mechanisms, promote experiences in the field, and pay attention to key links to ensure good implementation and performance of each health reform task to finally reach the goal of health poverty alleviation.

The inspection group also visited Xiong’an New Area to learn about its current medical system construction.
