Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission, inspected the grassroots health work in Beijing with his group on Apr 8, 2019.

The inspection group visited three health centers in Beijing's Huairou, Xicheng and Fengtai districts, talking with local health workers and asking the patients about the services of registered family doctors and local hospitals. They held a symposium to listen to the work report of the grassroots health institutions.

The Beijing government has strengthened the top-level design and taken health reform as a key, implementing a series of practical measures, including strengthening informatizaion of basic health centers, canceling the ceiling of medical insurance reimbursement to communities’ health centers and improving the proportion of merit-based pay of basic health workers, which have efficiently promoted the health institutions' capacities, said wang.

He urged the Beijing's health authorities to continue to strengthen coordination and communication, put people's health first and make development and reform go hand in hand.
