Elder health promotion in NW China
A senior health official called for building and improving a comprehensive service system for elder health on May 15 in Baoji, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
Wang Jianjun, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the National Health Commission and executive deputy-director of the office of the National Committee on Aging, made the remarks at the opening ceremony of an elder health promotion activity.
China is becoming an ageing society at a faster pace and the demand for elder health services keeps increasing, said Wang.
Various activities, including health promotion, lectures and free medical services on a volunteer basis were held to promote a healthy lifestyle and literacy.
