NHC vice-minister meets with Cuban counterpart

Li Bin, vice-minister of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met with Marcia Ruiz, deputy minister of Public Health of Cuba, on May 22 in Beijing. They decided to strengthen the two nations' health cooperation.
Li and Ruiz exchanged ideas on strengthening communications and cooperation in public health, diseases prevention and control as well as medical education.
Cuba is willing to cooperate with China in health sectors, according to Ruiz, including ophthalmology, prevention and treatment of tumors, maternal and child healthcare, stomatology, biotechnology, medical education and grassroots health services, to better benefit the two countries' people.
China and Cuba have shared a close friendship, said Li, adding that they have cooperated effectively in biotechnology, ophthalmology and public health on the basis of existing health MoUs and programs.
He also described China's medical and health development and the strategy of building a Healthy China.
