Cross-Straits health sectors continue cooperation

The health sectors of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan should deepen integrative development, said Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission.
Wang made the comment at the sub-forum on health of the 11th Straits Forum held in Xiamen, Fujian province, on June 15.
Cross-Straits health cooperation will continue to be stable, he said, and calling for people-to-people exchanges and cooperative results sharing in the field.
The Chinese mainland will make full efforts to promote the Healthy China strategy, integrate medical resources and deepen the linkage reform on medical insurance, health and medicine circulation systems, according to Wang.
The health poverty alleviation, prevention and control of major diseases, public health, balanced population development, healthy ageing and traditional Chinese medicine are also important health work that the Chinese mainland strives to improve, according to Wang.
The health sub-forum discussed nine topics including medical quality management, grassroots health development and rational clinical use of drugs.
Over 1,200 representatives from the health sectors of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan attended the sub-forum.
