At the World Health Organization's Monday media briefing, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said it was "heartbreaking" to see there have now been more than 300, 000 cases of COVID-19 reported to the WHO from "almost every country in the world".

He said the pandemic is accelerating, and countries must attack the virus with aggressive and targeted tactics, and he confirmed he would be addressing the heads of state from G20 countries this week.
