A novel coronavirus patient who received medical treatment in Beijing's Xiaotangshan Hospital was discharged on March 30. It was the first recovery case to leave the hospital since the facility was reopened.
The hospital, originally built in 2003 to treat patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, began new operations on March 16 to screen and treat people entering China from overseas with COVID-19.
As of Sunday at midnight, the hospital in the capital's Changping district has screened 2,002 people who came to the city from overseas, and the total number of confirmed cases is 43.
The hospital is responsible for treating those with mild and moderate symptoms of coronavirus infection.
