Share of imported cases in confirmed and asymptomatic cases in China continues to rise
At a press briefing held by the State Council inter-agency task force on 8 April, NHC spokesperson Mi Feng said that by 7 April the number of confirmed domestic cases under treatment had dropped to below 500 and close contacts under medical observation had declined for seven days in a row. Among all asymptomatic cases and confirmed cases still under treatment, the proportion of imported cases continues to rise and these cases have caused sporadic local infections. As control over outbound transportation in Wuhan is lifted and population movement increases, it is imperative to combine response to contingencies and control as a matter of routine and take targeted containment measures in light of key links and risks.
