China's capital has instituted nucleic acid testing for returnees from Wuhan, the city in Central China’s Hubei province hard-hit by COVID-19 and in the past five days, all results have been negative, according to Gao Xiaojun, spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, on April 14.

He said at a daily news conference on the city’s epidemic control efforts that to ensure public security, the Beijing health authority has done nucleic acid testing for all people returning to Beijing from Wuhan, but without negative nucleic acid testing results.

By Monday, 1,056 people were tested with all results proving negative.

On April 15, Wuhan lifted traffic controls and reopened after a 76-day lockdown.

Meanwhile, people who work in Beijing and were stranded in Wuhan are starting to gradually get back to Beijing.
