At a press briefing held by the State Council inter-agency task force on 19 April, NHC spokesperson Mi Feng noted that on 18 April, for the first time in a month, the number of new confirmed cases that are imported dropped below 10. Yet certain provinces have reported continued increase of clusters of local infections caused by imported cases. Mi called for persistent efforts to ensure the closed-loop management of screening, diagnosis, reporting and quarantine to firmly prevent community transmission.
