At a press briefing of the State Council inter-agency task force on COVID-19 response on 25 April, NHC spokesperson Mi Feng said that on 24 April, China saw no new fatal cases for the tenth consecutive day and a general decline in severe cases, thanks to effective therapeutics and treatment. The number of countries as sources of the imported cases increased to 50, and seven provinces reported new importation of confirmed or suspected infections. Forestalling a domestic resurgence of COVID-19 caused by imported infections will remain a formidable task. What is important now is to calibrate control measures and keep stressing personal precautions to minimize transmission risks.
