Jilin province reports three new local infections Shulan City raises response level
According to Jilin Provincial Health Commission's COVID-19 update on May 11, between 00:00 and 24:00, 10 May, Jilin Province reported three new local confirmed cases (all in Jilin City). One of them was developed from a previously asymptomatic case. All the new confirmed cases were close contacts of the confirmed cases in Shulan City reported by Jilin Province on 10 May. Two of them currently live in Jilin City and the third lives in Shulan City (a part of Jilin City).
The competent authorities at the provincial, city and county levels have taken prompt response measures to prevent further spread of the virus. Epidemiological investigations by means of big data, phone calls and door-to-door visits are carried out to trace the movements of confirmed cases and their close contacts. The workplaces and residential compounds of the confirmed cases have been placed under lockdown and thoroughly disinfected.
It is learned that the response level in Shulan City has been raised across the board:
- Vehicles and people getting in and out of Shulan City are restricted access, except for those delivering agricultural supplies and daily necessities.
- Restrictive protocols are enforced in all residential communities and villages.
- Urban and rural residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities and stay away from crowds, unless for work, medical and other essential needs.
- Public service and recreation venues such as playgrounds, libraries and Internet cafes are temporarily closed.
- Third-year students at junior-high and high schools who have already returned to campus resume online study.
- Dine-in services are in principle prohibited in all restaurants, but delivery services are still allowed.
- Management is enhanced in pharmacies and general and fever clinics and protective measures are stepped up for disease control, medical and transfer personnel.
- Sweeping screening will be conducted on everyone in the city, quarantine and control measures are to be strictly implemented and nucleic acid tests will cover each and every one in need.
