Ma Xiaowei attends China-Vietnam ministerial-level meeting on COVID-19 fight

China's National Health Commission (NHC) had a meeting with Vietnam's Ministry of Health on Sept 9 to exchange experiences in COVID-19 prevention and control. NHC Minister Ma Xiaowei and Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long participated in and spoke at the meeting via video link.
Ma said that in the context of the continued spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting is of great significance to further promote joint efforts in fighting the virus and boosting bilateral health cooperation.
He briefed the Vietnamese participants on China's strategies for and experiences in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment, and said that China is willing to work together with global partners, including Vietnam, to meet the challenges of the pandemic and push forward the building of a global community of health for all.
Nguyen Thanh Long congratulated China on its achievements in combating COVID-19 and expressed appreciation to China for its anti-pandemic support and assistance to Vietnam. He said Vietnam hopes to continue to strengthen exchanges with China in technology and experiences to tackle the pandemic.
Xiong Bo, Chinese ambassador to Vietnam, NHC officials and related medical experts from the two countries took part in the meeting.
