A delegation headed by Liu Qian, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, visited Sweden and Finland at the invitation of the social affairs departments of the two countries.
Liu held talks with Lena Furmark, secretary of Sweden’s health and social affairs department, during his stay in Sweden. Both sides spoke highly of bilateral medical and health cooperation. Liu said that both countries have conducted effective cooperation in health policy, antimicrobial drug use, and medicine science and technology innovation over the years. China is deepening medical health system reform and needs to draw on the experiences of countries all over the world. The Swedish health system is built on public financing. It is a global leader in medical equality and efficiency, and China has a lot to learn from Sweden, according to Liu.
