China expects more cooperation with Ukraine in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), said Yu Yanhong, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group of China's National Health Commission (NHC) and deputy director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Yu made the remarks as she met with Roman Ilyk, deputy minister of Health of Ukraine on May 29 in Beijing.

Many health sectors such as TCM, medical institutions and health system are expected to be areas of cooperation between China and Ukraine through high-level reciprocal visits and inter-governmental exchanges, said Yu.

Ukraine is willing to strengthen the inter-governmental coordination and exchanges, and boost TCM and medical services cooperation, according to Ilyk.

Yu spoke highly of China's practices and achievements on medical and health reform at the meeting.

In recent years, the two sides have made new progress in health cooperation, said Yu, praising the health work of the governmental cooperation commission.
