In addition, Liu attended the bilateral health system and medical science and technology innovation seminars. Liu visited the Karolinska Institute and spoke with Anders Hamsten, director of the institute. He also visited the new Karolinska hospital and Stockholm’s Gustavsbergs community health service center.
During his visit in Finland, Liu held talks with Susanna Huovinen, Finland’s social affairs and health minister, and Paula Risikko, head of the social affairs department. Liu signed a health cooperation deal for 2014-2019 with Susanna Huovinen. Both sides spoke highly of effective bilateral cooperation in various fields and vowed to continue stepping up efforts in health policy, science and technology innovation, chronic disease prevention and control. The delegation attended a health system roundtable conference at Finland’s health and social welfare research institute and a bilateral scientific enterprise symposium. It also visited Meilahti Tower Hospital and Vallila community health service center. The delegation had an exchange of views with local officials on health services financing, service delivery, medicine education and medical personnel management.
Officials from the NHFPC’s international, law, science and education departments were in the delegation.
