Zhong Jing, who was born in October 1982, owns a health service office in a village in southwest Guizhou province, Southwest China.

In 2008, Zhong quit her job at a large hospital in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, and opened a health service office in the village, where her husband was working, after she witnessed how much the villagers were lacking in healthcare knowledge and access to quality medicalcare.

She spent 20,000 yuan ($3,200) to set up the office, and made traditional Chinese medicine on her own and offered them to villagers. Not only did she provide medical service to financially challenged seniors and seniors left alone at home, but she also invited them to dinner. She regularly visited paralyzed seniors in their homes to offer medical checks and treatment.

Zhong’s husband went to work in another city in 2009, but she stayed, as she said she cares about the villagers, though she feels bad that she can only see her family several times a year.
